'Perfect for Christmas': Trump shills Melania's book amid furor over hurricane response

As a deadly storm barreled toward Donald Trump's home state Tuesday afternoon, the former President shared words of encouragement for his fellow Floridians and readers across the nation.

"Very proud of Melania! Her book is out Nationally, and for sale EVERYWHERE," Trump wrote. "Perfect for Christmas. Get it NOW."

This message coincided with imminent arrival of Hurricane Milton and the release of the former first lady's memoir "Melania," in which she discusses her views on abortion (for it), her son Barron (not autistic), the 2020 presidential election (denies it) and the U.S. Capitol riots on Jan. 6, 2021 (unacceptable.)

It remains unclear of Melania Trump included in her book the moment when a former friend shared audio of the then-first lady asking, "Who gives a f--- about Christmas?"

“I’m working ... my a-- off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f--- about the Christmas stuff and decorations?" she says. "But I need to do it, right?”

The lead up to Melania's memoir release has seen her release a slew of cryptic ads in which she defends nude photos that critics noted few people were actually upset about.

Trump was overjoyed with the final reveal, he wrote.

"It is really great!" Trump said of the book. "She was a fantastic First Lady, and shares that experience, and much more. She’s also a really good writer."

Melania Trump has been subject to subtle jabbing on this point by social media comedians who suggest its author was not the first lady.

When New Yorker humorist Paul Rudnick quipped about possible titles for Melania Trump's memoir in July, among them was "A book by someone I paid."

Other titles included, "I'm not Alan Dershowitz," "Pay Me for This Book," "The Third Wives Club" and "Me-Lania."

Amazon reviewer H. Drallmeyer on Tuesday described the book as "poorly written" and wanted to know, "Who proof read this one?"
