Macron admits to France's 'repressive violence' in Cameroon during decolonisation

French President Emmanuel Macron has acknowledged France's role in "repressive violence" in Cameroon as the country decolonised in the late 1950s, an admission made in a letter to Cameroon's president that was made public on Tuesday. The acknowledgement follows a French government report from January that detailed mass displacement and brutal crackdowns during Cameroon’s push for independence.    via France 24 - International breaking news, top stories and headlines https://ift.tt/MiBdHyu
